Axis Animation

At Axis Animation my tasks are generally rig related, either in projects or in pipeline development of tools like animation export to Houdini or rigging tools for vehicles and characters. Here is a breakdown of my contribution in some of the projects I most enjoyed while working at Axis and links to the movies.

Crysis :: trailer

In this job I did a bit of everything, I did the skinning of the nanosuit that we see on the last shot, I did a setup of the elements inside the suit, such as fibres and muscles. Also not present in this trailer is a suit explosion that I did using nCloth, also, some camera motion and particles and rigid bodies simulations.

Grid :: trailer

In this job I did a tool to setup the rig for the cars, I also developed in partnership with a colleague a crowd system that we used in this show, using the same methodologies I also helped on set dressing applying the flags and balloons on the track.

Reanult Clio :: advert

This was one of my favourite jobs at Axis, my tasks where to skin and work on the deformation rig of the animals using Comet Muscle system as part of the tool set.

Operation Flashpoint 2 :: trailer

In this job I had to take care of vehicles, first test and implement Craft dynamic rigs on the animation rigs and then developing tools for better ground collisions of wheels, the eight wheeled vehicles where of course the major challenge, the black hawk with the mini gun on the other was pure fun :)

MotorStorm Pacific Rift :: cinematics

In this job I was again doing crowds this time going a step further since we had more detailed characters, I did an asset in Houdini that basically dressed the character randomly or by user choice, the tools that I did on Flashpoint where also used in this show, I also did some rigging of vehicles.

Fuel :: trailer

In this job I had a small participation, I did the prototype rig for the other riggers use as a guide and also helped with some problems at the end, either way great show.

Killzone2 :: cinematics

In this job I was responsible for rigging in characters, some vehicles(tank, intruders) and props, also, some vfx work (dust and debris lifted by the treads of the tank)

RogueWarrior :: trailer

In this job I was responsible for rigging the characters, and props. It was great to work on this project as I had he opportunity to use some tools I have been developing to build the rigs, so it was like a breeze and because of that I got some extra time to care about the deformations, I'm really proud of the work I did on it, I wish all the projects could be as smooth as this one was.
